Fun on the Ohio

Finally got to do some REAL summer activity and get out on a boat on the Ohio last weekend. It was great weather, and not too much traffic although that was most likely due to the choppy water. In the first five minutes after we got the boat in the river we ended assisting in the rescue of 2 young guys who had flipped their boat over. Of course they did not think to bring life jackets, and their dog who came with them had gotten trapped underneath of the capsized craft. I finally got to use my "Water Master" skills I had trained so hard for, and get in the freezing water for quite a while. In the end we got the dog out, and the Fire department showed up in their rescue boats to try to save their boat from being pulled down to the bottom or to the Gulf of Mexico. We went along our way and had a great rest of the day sitting in the sun and some people even got out on the skiis. I'll post some more pictures when I get them from other people's cameras, we didn't get any of the rescue though :-(

I started off the day with my freshly washed car:
